Terms of service
Last updated: August 23, 2026
These Terms of Service and Sale (“Terms”) govern use of cardboardmonsters.ca and purchases from CardBoard Monsters. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to the Terms presented to you before purchase. Nothing in these Terms limits a mandatory consumer right or remedy.
1. Merchant identity
CardBoard Monsters, a subsidiary of Boutique V-MAX inc.
575 Av. du Cénacle
Québec, Quebec G1E 6W4, Canada
Telephone: 581 443-8998
Email: info@cardboardmonsters.ca
Website: cardboardmonsters.ca
2. Language of the contract
The French version of these Terms and related documents is available at all times. Where Quebec law requires, it is provided or made accessible before the English version. By expressly selecting English and completing an order in English after having access to the French version, the customer expressly wishes to be bound by the English version. In the event of a discrepancy, any mandatory rule concerning language or interpretation continues to apply.
3. Capacity and minors
You must have legal capacity to enter into the contract or act with the authorization of your parent or guardian. We do not knowingly solicit orders or personal information directly from children under 14; a parent or guardian should place an order for them.
4. TCG product information
We strive to describe clearly the game, set, language, edition, variant, quantity, condition and whether each product is new, sealed or used. Where relevant, the product page states whether the image shows the exact copy or is generic. Contact us before purchase if a characteristic is essential and remains unclear.
Sealed products contain randomized items determined by the manufacturer. Unless expressly promised on the product page, no particular card, rarity, variant, resale value, pull rate or opening result is guaranteed. An uncertified card is sold as a raw card; no future grade from PSA, BGS, CGC or another third party is guaranteed. The names and marks Riftbound, Disney Lorcana, Dragon Ball, Magic: The Gathering, Palworld and those of their owners remain the property of their respective owners.
5. Prices, taxes and fees
Prices are displayed in Canadian dollars unless clearly stated otherwise. Before payment, the cart and checkout display product prices, applicable discounts, taxes, shipping charges and the total. No undisclosed mandatory fee is added after confirmation.
If an obvious pricing, description or stock error is discovered, we will notify you promptly. We will seek your agreement to a correction where possible; if the order must be cancelled to the extent permitted by law, all affected amounts will be refunded. We do not use this clause to change a valid contract unilaterally.
6. Orders, availability and limits
Before confirming, you can review and correct your cart, address and payment method. A retainable confirmation is sent after the order. Availability may change quickly, particularly for limited-allocation TCG releases. We limit quantities offered to confirmed allocations. If an unforeseen supply problem occurs after a sale is concluded, we will contact you to agree on a solution permitted by law; we do not reserve a unilateral right to cancel solely because quantity is insufficient.
Quantity limits displayed before purchase may apply to distribute a product fairly. We may hold or cancel an order on objective grounds of fraud, unauthorized use, circumvention of a disclosed limit or security risk, subject to law and with a refund of amounts collected for any cancelled order.
7. Payment and fraud prevention
Payment is processed using the methods displayed at checkout. We may request only reasonable and proportionate verification where objective indicators of fraud, unauthorized use or a security incident exist. If a decision with a significant effect is based exclusively on automated processing, we provide the information and opportunity for human review required by law.
We invite you to contact us before disputing a payment so that we can resolve the matter quickly, without limiting any statutory chargeback right. We may respond to an unfounded dispute with relevant evidence of the order, payment, authenticity, packaging, communications, tracking and delivery. Any collection or disclosure of information for this purpose is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
8. Pre-orders
An accepted pre-order is a binding sale of a product to be delivered later. Before the order is placed, the product page states the expected delivery date or period, which may be based on information from the publisher or distributor. If the date changes, we will notify you in writing. A revised date binds you only if agreed to in writing. A delay does not remove statutory rights relating to late delivery or non-delivery.
If a pre-order is due to be delivered more than two months after the contract is made, CardBoard Monsters will not collect any amount until the expected delivery is two months or less away. In Quebec, any payment accepted before delivery must be made by credit card unless another instrument is expressly authorized by law. If a supply issue occurs, we will seek a legally permitted solution with you. No non-refundable deposit or fixed penalty replaces mandatory rights.
9. Delivery, returns and refunds
Our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy form part of the contractual information when they have been expressly brought to your attention before purchase. Sales of single cards and sealed TCG products are final for change of mind, disappointing pulls, a change in value or grading expectations, but this rule does not apply to defects, non-conformity, counterfeits, errors, delivery damage, non-delivery or any other mandatory right.
10. Accounts and acceptable use
You are responsible for the accuracy of information supplied and the confidentiality of your credentials. You may not use the site to commit fraud, compromise security, introduce malicious code, circumvent a disclosed limit, scrape content in bulk without authorization or infringe the rights of others. We may take proportionate steps to protect the site and customers, subject to law.
11. Intellectual property
Original CardBoard Monsters content, including its logo, layout, text and graphic elements, is protected by applicable laws. Third-party trademarks, artwork and product images belong to their owners and are used for identification, authorized resale or under applicable permissions. No ownership right in those elements is transferred to you.
12. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy describes the collection, use, disclosure, retention and protection of personal information. Order, payment, security and shipping emails are transactional. Commercial communications are sent only in accordance with applicable consent and legal requirements and include an unsubscribe mechanism.
13. Warranties and liability
Applicable statutory warranties remain fully in force. No “final sale” wording, warning about random contents or limitation in these Terms excludes liability where the law prohibits it. Only to the extent permitted by law, CardBoard Monsters is not responsible for indirect or speculative losses that do not reasonably result from a proven breach, including a change in the secondary market or an unguaranteed future grade.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may amend these Terms for future operations. The updated date appears above and notice will be given where required by law. An amendment does not retroactively change the terms of an order already concluded unless validly agreed or legally required.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec and Canada without depriving a consumer of the mandatory protections of their province or territory. No mandatory arbitration, class-action waiver or foreign court is imposed where prohibited by law. Disputes are heard by the competent courts determined under applicable law.
